Following back-to-back victories in the Cornwall Team Championship (CTC) earlier this year, Carlyon Bay Golf Club’s team of Max Gay, Alec Nile and Sam Crocker headed north to proudly represent the club in the English Men’s Champion Club national final.
Held at Kedleston Park Golf Club in Derbyshire, the championship saw some of the country’s leading club golfers compete over two days. Following an official practice round on Friday, the competition consisted of 36 holes of scratch stroke play across Saturday and Sunday, with all three players’ scores combined to determine the overall club standings.
Our team produced a strong performance to finish 16th overall, a very credible result against some of the best players and clubs from across the country.
A fantastic achievement for Max, Alec and Sam, and a proud moment for everyone at Carlyon Bay Golf Club. Congratulations, boys!
